Escrow service
for the United States
A modern, low-cost alternative to Escrow.com. Built on Stripe, set up in 30 seconds, payouts in 1–2 business days. Buy and sell safely with anyone in the US.
Why US buyers and sellers trust TrustProtect
Same standards as your bank, but built for online peer-to-peer commerce.
Stripe-backed escrow
Money is held in a regulated Stripe payment account, fully separated from TrustProtect's operating funds. Stripe is licensed in all 50 US states.
Bank-level encryption
PCI-DSS Level 1 (highest tier), TLS 1.3, AES-256 at rest. Your payment data is handled with the same standard as the largest US banks.
Built on Stripe
We don't reinvent payment infrastructure. We use Stripe, the same processor trusted by Apple, Amazon, Shopify, Google and millions of US businesses.
Transparent fees
Single transparent percentage. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no foreign exchange markup. You see the exact fee before you pay.
TrustProtect vs Escrow.com vs Cash App
The three options Americans actually use — broken down side by side.
| Feature | TrustProtect | Escrow.com | Cash App / Zelle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fees on a $1,000 transaction | Around $30 (transparent) | $36 + 3.25% wire fee = $68 | Free, but 0% buyer protection |
| Time to receive funds (seller) | 1–2 business days (ACH) or instant card payout | 5–10 business days (international wire) | Instant, but you have NO protection |
| Account setup | 30 seconds — email + Stripe Connect | 30+ minutes — multiple verifications | 5 minutes — but it's not escrow |
| Buyer protection if seller doesn't ship | Auto-refund after deadline | Manual dispute, weeks to resolve | None — money is gone |
| Supports ACH bank transfer | Yes — no card fees | Wire transfer only | Linked bank only |
| Mobile-first interface | Fully responsive web app | Outdated UX | Yes — but for personal payments |
Comparison based on public pricing pages and standard transaction flows. Cash App / Zelle offer no escrow at all — listed for context.
When Americans need an escrow service
Used cars & vehicles
$5,000–$50,000 transactions. Skip the cashier's check headache. Buyer pays into escrow, seller hands over title, funds release on approval.
High-value goods
Watches, electronics, art, collectibles. Both parties protected — buyer can verify authenticity before approving.
Domain name sales
Domain transfer is irreversible. Use escrow so the seller is paid only after the domain has actually moved to the buyer's registrar.
Freelance & services
Client deposits the project amount upfront. You get paid the moment the deliverable is approved — no chase, no PayPal hold.
How a TrustProtect escrow works
Four steps. Both sides protected at every stage.
1. Buyer deposits
Card or ACH bank transfer. Funds confirmed within 1–3 business days.
2. Money held safely
Stripe escrow account. Neither party can withdraw until both agree.
3. Seller delivers
Ship the item or complete the service. Tracking auto-updates the buyer.
4. Buyer approves → seller paid
Payout to seller's US bank account. Auto-release after 7 days if no objection.
Frequently asked questions
Is TrustProtect a real escrow service in the US?+
Yes. We operate as a payment escrow platform built on Stripe Connect. Funds are held in a regulated Stripe payment account — not in TrustProtect's operating account. This is the same model used by major marketplace platforms across the US.
How is TrustProtect different from Escrow.com?+
Three big differences: (1) lower fees — usually 30–60% less. (2) Faster payouts — ACH 1–2 days instead of wire 5–10 days. (3) Modern UX — set up in 30 seconds versus a 30-minute onboarding. Escrow.com is the classic player; we're the modern, mobile-first alternative.
Are you regulated to hold funds in the US?+
Funds are held inside Stripe's regulated payment infrastructure, which complies with US money transmitter regulations across all 50 states. We never touch the funds directly — they go from buyer to Stripe to seller, with TrustProtect acting only as the agreement layer.
What payment methods are supported?+
Buyers can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover (instant), or ACH bank transfer (1–3 business days, no card fees). Sellers receive funds in their US bank account via standard ACH or instant payout.
Are there transaction limits?+
Standard transactions go from $50 up to $50,000. For higher amounts (real estate down payments, business sales, etc.), contact our team — we routinely handle 6-figure transactions with additional verification.
What if I want a refund?+
If you've already approved the transaction, refund is at the seller's discretion (we can mediate). If you haven't approved yet, you can open a dispute and we'll review the evidence. If the seller never shipped, you're auto-refunded after the deadline.
Do you charge a subscription fee?+
No. There's only a per-transaction fee, shown transparently before you pay. No monthly fee, no setup fee, no minimum volume.
Is my personal information shared?+
Only what's needed to complete the transaction. Buyers and sellers don't see each other's bank details or addresses unless physical shipping is required. All payment data is encrypted and handled by Stripe.
